Before moving to Connecticut in 2012, Laura worked in museums in New York and Washington, D.C., including The Morgan Library & Museum and the Smithsonian Institution. After moving to Connecticut, Laura began teaching free arts-based programming in local libraries and other community spaces in order to provide much needed arts education to children. In 2018, she founded Soul Haven Arts, which served children at the Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital, Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services (IRIS), and the New Haven Free Public Library. Through her teaching, Laura aims to give children the tools they need to connect with the world around them. Fostering curiosity is at the center of Laura’s work and empowering children to ask questions is a primary goal.
Laura received a B.A. in the History of Art & Architecture from Miami University in Ohio and a M.A. in Art History from The George Washington University.
