The Eli Whitney Museum & Workshop manages three distinct collections dedicated to the history of the museum site, American inventor A.C. Gilbert, and lithographs from Gilbert toys.
Armory Collection
Archeological materials found on the museum site between the 1970s and 1990s. The Eli Whitney Museum & Workshop celebrates its place in the history of Connecticut, the United States, and the fields of engineering and manufacturing by holding these materials.

Gilbert Collections
The Gilbert Company's showroom in New York, the Gilbert Hall of Science, was an emporium of experimental learning and a forerunner of the modern science museum. The Eli Whitney Museum collects and studies the products and legacy of A.C. Gilbert and his company.
