Kimberly R. Heard is a visual artist questioning the limitations of legibility and embodiment. Working across painting and installation, her practice contemplates the slippage in which color, language, and the body are enmeshed, embracing the incidental processes of material experimentation.
Kimberly is currently working in New Haven, Connecticut. Her work has been exhibited at the Institute of Contemporary Art San Diego, James Fuentes Gallery, Picture Theory Projects, and Bread & Salt Gallery. Her work was featured in the Getty Foundation's PST ART: Art & Science Collide and is included in the City of San Diego Civic Art Collection. She holds a BA from UC San Diego and an MFA in Painting from the Yale School of Art, where she was awarded the 2026 Dean's Prize and the 2025 Robert Schoelkopf Memorial Traveling Fellowship.
