2014 Summer Program

To grasp the intricacy of nature's design, consider the world of insects. Millions of types are known; many yet to be discovered. Study the logic of the insect's construction by building your own.

Build a hexapod (6 legged) exoskeleton powered by 2 remotely controlled motors. Add a head with pincers and antennae. Add an abdomen and perhaps a stinger. give it noises or light or scents to communicate with. Create the flowers the insect has evolved with so that it can disperse pollen. Clad your construction brightly to attract attention or with careful camouflage to escape notice. Armor it so that it can battle. Or make it so beautiful that it will be worshipped.

A workshop to explore the skills of design, the genius of nature.
