2007 Summer Program

Between 1200 and 1400, merchants made Venice Europe’s most powerful city. Her galleys brought silks and spices, learning and art from the East. They carried glass and silver, Crusaders and horses to the East. Construct a 36-oared galley with her nobles and crew, with gilt trim and linen sails. Practice the arts that created the treasures of the Mediterranean, west & east. The rd in our Trading Cultures series.
