2008 Summer Program

For 50 years in the first half of the fourth century BC, Greek and Persian armies fought on land and at sea for control of the boundary that still divides Western and Eastern Civilizations. At Marathon, a Greek army of 10,000 pushed back a much larger force of Persians and sent a runner to carry that news to Athens. We remember the place by that brave run. Construct Greek hoplites, Persian archers and cavalry, and a trireme to reenact this pivotal battle. Construct a Persian and Greek temple.Guest Persian in residence: Ani Bradberry
