2013 Summer Program

You can touch keys or drag your finger across a screen and send remarkable messages. Ever wonder how people expressed themselves long ago when digital meant using your fingers? Long before computers, technology helped artists make their messages big, bold and beautiful.

Enter the printmaker's studio. Learn ancient and modern techniques for pressing ink to paper or cloth. Make essential tools. Experiment with dyes, inks and natural pigments. Learn the textures and habits of different papers. Create and frame artwork, which will become part of a group exhibit on display Friday afternoon. Print and send a limited edition of a message of a now nearly obsolete technology: the postcard.
