Textiles beautify our homes and adorn our bodies. They bring beauty to our everyday lives. Artisans have created beautiful, luxurious, patterned textiles for centuries. Learn the Japanese art of Shibori (similar to our tie dye.) Learn the Asian art of batik, another resist method for dying fabric. Look at stunning block printed fabrics from India and then create your own bold patterns. Print your own T-shirts using screen printing. Be introduced to different techniques from all over the globe: dyeing, patchwork, weaving, embroidery and printing just to name a few. Decide how to showcase your textiles - in a frame or maybe sewn into a pillow or small bag.
