The ancient Greeks dropped pebbles or marbles into urns to cast their votes. Our word ballot comes from this tradition of counting small balls,. This Election Day, explore this and other traditions in art and play with marbles.
• Make an ingenious marble shooter and master the classic marble ring.
• Create your own version of 'Pigs in Clover,' America's first viral game 140 years ago.
• Construct a Marble Mouse, a beguiling pet from Arvind Gupta.
• Construct and decorate a top that spins on a marble.
• Spend the afternoon improvising a Micro-Miniature Marble Golf Course with the class.
• Play. All of the above.
