To know: roses

Each flower has its season. Blooms fade. Every culture has invented ways to remember and recreate the joy of flowers.

Add to the many ways you already know how to make flowers. Learn from traditional techniques – invent your own. Learn quilling (France) to sculpt paper; kirigami (Japan) to fold and cut paper; Henna (Pakistan) to ink intricate blooms; Washi tape (Japan) to fold funky flowers; polymer clay to invent unknown flowers; yarn and a wire grid to knot flowers (Spain) giant, batteries and LEDs to make flowers that will glow at night.

Nature's artistry will guide your creativity.
