Abbey Catalano graduated from Hamden Hall Country Day School in 2020 where she excelled in many group and individual art classes. One of her paintings was chosen for the cover of the 2019 school yearbook. She graduated from MASS College of Art and Design (Boston, MA) in 2024 where she majored in Ceramics. She attended a weeklong workshop in clay at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine as well as the National Conference for Education on Ceramics Arts (nceca) in Ohio. In her Senior year she received an award for Excellence in Chemistry in ceramics for her creative and innovative glazes and glazing techniques.

During her Junior year in college, she was chosen to exhibit her works in a two person exhibition at the Clark Memorial Library in Bethany, CT and participated in three of their summer exhibitions, one with her grandmother, Beverly Johnson, which they titled Two Generations.

Abbey has been a member of the Hamden Art League since 2024 and received an Honorable Mention in the 2025 Summer HAL Exhibition at the Eli Whitney Barn. She currently shares a studio with her grandmother and in addition to ceramics is exploring sculptural and decorative fiber arts and jewelry design.

She is employed in the fashion industry at 2nd Avenue in New Haven and Hello Boutique.com in Guilford, CT.
