To know: Orchids
On the southeast corner of what used to be the Whitney estate, there is a greenhouse. Frederick Brewster build that conservatory to collect and cultivate flowers to adorn his Edgerton Estate and mansion. That Greenhouse still shelters blooming flowers year-round.
Tour the Edgerton Park Conservatory. Learn about the mechanics of microclimates. Then return to the Museum. Construct a micro farm in a soda bottle. Explore the non-traditional environments of hydroponics and vertical farming that will transform future agriculture.
