Designs for The Bauhaus Project were developed by apprentices whose stipends were funded by the Arts Endowment of The CT DECD: Connecticut Office of the Arts

If you are from outside CT, PLEASE NOTE: We are located in Hamden, CT, and it is not the norm to ship our products to people (then again, nothing about this summer is normal…) but, if you are from outside CT and want to join our classes, there is a minimum shipping fee of $35.

We must have time to get the products to you – so a 2 week lead – unless you want to pay an expedited fee which is really expensive.

You will have to call us to arrange this (203.777.1833) and to have the fee added to your cart. We Do NOT see an address when you register so we have no idea that you are out of state.

MAKING – the Best of it

Each summer, the Workshop devotes itself to a series of week long workshops for young experimenters. This summer will look quite differentbut we will still offer week-long workshops for June, July and August.

It is clear that the June and July months of 2020 will still be requiring stringent distancing rules that would be exceptionally difficult for us, (with our very very hands-on model) – to maintain the safety of campers and our Staff regarding transmission of Covid-19. Is this our first choice? Of course not. But that is where we are now and we intend to MAKE the Best of It.

Thus, we've adapted and created an exciting online alternative which will engage campers between the ages 7 to 13 from 9am to Noon, five days a week, with a camper to Instructor/Apprentice ratio of 1:5. Parents will pick up a box of projects and materials the week before the program to work on at home.

There will be programs for ages 7-8, 8-9, 9-12, and 11-13 which provide building experiences, snack breaks, exercise/dance breaks and time for the 'group' to socialize with each other.

All this will happen via the Zoom platform using very strict Security Protocols currently in use at Yale and Harvard.

Introducing…

The Whitney Workshop @Home

A series of online (but with an Instructor and Apprentice) programs from 9am to Noon. These programs are designed for campers to be able to work independently at home (i.e. without the help of a parent) but with the guidance of an Apprentice/Instructor in at a 'Virtual Table' of 5 campers.

The programs below have a limit of 30 campers per class (with the exception of the computer/technology classes which is limited to 20). Families who have already signed up with us will be able to sign up before the general public. An explanation of the way transfer of funds, credits carry forward, and refunds are addressed in an email to everyone already registered.
