In 2011, 9 year old Caine Monroy built an elaborate cardboard arcade in his father's auto parts store. Caine's first customer was Nirvan Mullick, a filmmaker, who was deeply impressed with Caine's drive and creativity. Mullick made a powerful video to honor Caine's inventiveness. http://youtu.be/faIFNkdq96U

Mullick established the Imagination Foundation to encourage others to explore the fun they can discover in simple materials.

Accept that challenge. Construct arcade games from cigar boxes. Learn tricks and techniques of cutting, coloring, and connecting cardboard. Join the class in assembling a cardboard scupture inspired by Charles and Ray Eames. Meet cardboard designer Zach Rotholtz whose studio, creates easy to construct durable cardboard furniture.

A portion of the class fee will go to the Imagination Foundation.

The Hopkins School
has sponsored scholarships for this class.
Hopkins values drive and creativity.

Instructor: Annalise Phillips and Hopkins students.
