Finding Magic in a Garden

Flowers surprise us. They appear mysteriously with improbable and playful colors and forms. Who can doubt us if we imagine that magical creatures must be at work?

Build a small flower box. Add stones for drainage and add soil. Plant slips and seeds of flowers with curious histories. Then add a little mischief – construct garden elves or gnomes or fairies to tend or guard or play in your garden. Keep in mind that they may need hiding places. Put it in a sunny place. Add water. Nature and your 'gar'dians will do the rest.
