Let Reinaldo Cruz, (Wood Carver, Woodworker, Sustainable Food Gardiner, Permaculture Designer, Educator) help you access your inner woodcarver.

Bringing utility and beauty from a piece of wood once considered dead and perhaps en route to the wood stove, honors tradition and craftsmanship.

Reinaldo teaches mostly non-electric, sustainably inspired wooden spoon carving classes. In this workshop you will learn wood identification, achieve a direct understanding of wood grain, tool safety, knife and tool sharpening, sculpting, whittling, sawing, splitting, carving and finishing.

Wood and tools are provided. You should bring comfortable work gloves and any wood that you personally want to work on. Any personal tools like knives, gouges, and hand saws you would like to bring are welcome.

Start with a spoon and who knows where you'll go from there.
