Vacation Program

  • Wednesday, December 30, 2009
  • 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • Designed for ages 9, 10, 11 and 12

The English scientist Neil A. Downie, has written three volumes of Saturday Science Projects. His designs are remarkably original and thoughtful. He explains the math and science of every experiment…On a level for advanced high school or college students. But our project designers, Alex Leffell, Mark Wesolowski and Tyler Hayslett have adapted (hacked) his ideas for you. Construct a motor experiment tool kit with two motors, a battery pack, a potentiometer (to control speed) that will test four Downie designs: a robot arm, a checker catapult, a vibrating climbing ring, a dancing brush. Then adapt the parts for your own experiments. 9am – 3pm
