Frequently Asked Questions

Are Gilbert toys still produced?

Almost. Meccano (a Gilbert rival) produces a construction set named Erector: www.brioplay.com/Erector_Prod_Template.htm and Lionel (a Gilbert Rival) imports a product with American Flyer names: www.lionel.com/Products/Findex.cfm. Other produce S gauge trains.

Can I visit Erector Square?

Many of Gilbert’s buildings still stand on Peck Street [images] , but the old romance is gone [images]. The buildings house artists and small manufacturers. There is really no provision for giving tours.

Where can I buy an Erector Set?

http://www.girdersandgears.com/erector.html , or Ebay.
