Trucks and trains tell the story of community. Each is constructed from a common pool of parts. Each will find unique form, function, color, and detail to match the individuality of your students. Just as many different trucks and trains make communities work. Trains have magnetic couplings.

Parts

Step 1
Brush a thin layer of glue to the back of the base (about 1/3 surface), or to the bottom of the sidewalk board. Put them together and allow time to dry.

Step 2
Brush glue into the crack to hold your buildings in place. Slide your buildings in. If the fit is tight it may be easiest to start at one corner.

Step 3
Push each of the three axles into three wheels.

Step 4
Line the remaining wheels up with the axles and carefully push the truck down into the hub holes. Do not work with the truck flipped over; the axles may break if the wheels are forced on top-down.

Step 5
Brush a thin layer of glue onto the truck cab parts and lay them in place. Push the smoke stack into the drilled hole in the top of the cab.

Step 6
Push thumb-tacks in for head-lights.

Step Done
All done building! Begin embellishing the vehicle and landscape by gluing additional parts in place.
