Peter Spier is an illustrator. He was born in Holland. He came to America in 1950. He brought with him a deep love of boats and water. He developed a great love of American stories. His books for children have words…and sometimes songs…but his illustrations tell the stories. You could study the detail of each page for a day.

Enter Peter Spier's worlds through his illustrations, each for a day or maybe two. Construct his Noah's Ark with pairs of animals. Build a miniature Circus whose performers spin around. And make an Erie Canal boat with its cargo and passengers to test in our canal locks in the water lab.

Let Peter Spier's gifted eyes and hands train your eyes and hands.
