Vacation Program

  • Friday, December 27, 2019
  • 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • Designed for ages 6 to 8
  • By Kiran Zaman, Director of Programming

This year we honor some books whose images and words challenge us to think fresh and deep about how we get along. See and hear their stories. Then choose projects to recreate and add to their themes.

Sew a bear that will be able to do bear things. Or construct a hedgehog. Or construct a cat and hats that – spoiler alert – that cat will get to wear in the end. Or paint stones to leave thoughtful messages in places that will surprise and delight.

A day of hearing, seeing, exploring, and playing, to learn.

Bear is Awake by Hannah Harrison, Dial Books.
Hats Are Not for Cats by Jacqueline K. Rayner, Candlewick.
Scribble Stones by Diane Alber, Diane Alber Art LLC.
The Proper Way to Meet a Hedgehog by Paul B. Richard and Richard Jones, Dial Books.
Bear Came Along by Richard T. Morris, LeUyen Pham Illustrator , Little, Brown & Co.
A Kite for Moon by Jane Yolen, Heidi Stemple, Matt Phelan (Illus), Zonderkidz.

Fee: $70
