At its best, art helps us look at the world to see connections we have not recognized and to act with new wisdom. You could say: art can be both a microscope and a map. The artist Amy Franceschini created Futurefarmers and her project Seed Journey to retrace the migration of seeds from the middle East north to Norway. Her message: rich diversity in seeds is essential.

Consider seeds. Collect them from our meadow. Learn to look at them with a simple low power microscope. Learn about their parts and stories from our visiting Artist/Gardner, Alexis Brown.

Construct artful projects to help you remember their storied. Then construct a small model of the Rescue Ship Christiania to trace the journey of traditional seeds that must be preserved... and to carry your seeds and microscope home.
