Some coding experience is highly recommended for this class, but not required. However, patience is a requirement.

Using the powerful game design program Stencyl, learn how to create completely customizable games.

This program uses elements of code, visual design, and drawing to help create games like Space Invader, Super Mario, or other classic 2D games that everyone still loves. Those that have experience with Scratch will find that Stencyl is very similar, as it uses a block-style coding method for writing scripts and functions to command your characters and your game's environment.

At the end of the workshop, students can challenge their friends by showing them the levels they've made, or even test them on a phone or mobile device to take the games on the go. A flash drive or removable storage device will be needed to take files that students have made home with them.
